Pakistan Blames Indian Officers, Afghan Nationals for Terror Attacks: DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military has accused serving Indian army officers and illegal Afghan nationals of direct involvement in terrorism and serious crimes inside the country.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, in an interview with international media on September 5, said Pakistan has “credible evidence” proving Indian state-sponsored terrorism. He stressed that Islamabad has shared this proof with the global community several times.

Chaudhry highlighted that Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees for more than four decades, extending their stay on humanitarian grounds. However, he argued that the original reasons for asylum foreign interference and civil war “no longer exist.”

Accusing India of fueling unrest, he said violent incidents within India arise from extremist policies, but New Delhi tries to blame its neighbors. He also warned that Indian institutions, including its army, are heavily influenced by extremist political ideologies.

The DG ISPR underlined Pakistan’s firm stance that no non-state actors are allowed to declare jihad, saying, “There is no place in Pakistan for any militia or armed group.” He reaffirmed that Pakistan rejects militancy in all forms without discrimination.

Pointing to regional security challenges, Chaudhry noted that weapons left behind in Afghanistan after the U.S. withdrawal are now being used in terrorist attacks. He said even Washington has expressed concern over this trend.

He also recalled former U.S. President Donald Trump’s leadership role during past Pakistan India tensions and mentioned Pakistan’s strong and strategic partnership with China.

The spokesperson further revealed that the U.S. has recently designated the banned Majeed Brigade as a global terrorist group. He added that several slain militants of “Fitna-e-Hindustan” in Balochistan were earlier listed among so called missing persons.

Chaudhry concluded by urging the international community to help resolve the Kashmir dispute, stressing that peace in the region cannot be achieved without addressing the issue.
