A day of pride and unity: Saudi Arabia gears up to mark its 95th National Day with a nationwide holiday and grand celebrations.

Saudi Arabia has officially declared Tuesday, September 23, 2025, as a public holiday for both government and private sector employees, marking the nation’s 95th National Day. The announcement means all schools, offices, and banks will also remain closed, allowing citizens and residents to take part in nationwide celebrations.

Why This Day Matters

National Day commemorates the historic unification of the Kingdom in 1932 by King Abdulaziz Al Saud. What began as a symbolic occasion has grown into one of the country’s most celebrated events, reflecting pride in Saudi history and heritage.

This Year’s Theme

The 2025 celebrations will take place under the banner “Our Pride Lies in Our Nature”, highlighting the Kingdom’s deep cultural roots and its natural treasures. Across major cities, residents can expect fireworks, concerts, cultural exhibitions, and patriotic shows, with public spaces decorated in green and white.

A Tradition of Celebration

Although National Day has been observed since 1965, it was in 2005 that King Abdullah declared it an official public holiday. Since then, the day has become an important annual event, blending national pride with entertainment and cultural showcases.

With nationwide closures, people are encouraged to plan ahead for travel and services. Families, students, and businesses alike will join the festivities, turning the day into a collective expression of unity. The celebration also ties into the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals, connecting its past with its ambitions for the future.
