Met Office Forecasts Windy Weather in Karachi with Strong Gusts

The Met Office has warned Karachi residents to brace for gusty winds and dry conditions over the coming days, as changing pressure patterns bring stronger north-easterly winds to the city.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast windy weather conditions for Karachi, warning residents to expect strong gusts over the next few days. The system is likely to bring cooler temperatures but could also cause minor disruptions in coastal areas.

According to the latest advisory, north-easterly winds are expected to intensify, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours. Wind speeds may reach up to 35–40 kilometers per hour, which could create difficulties for motorists, motorcyclists, and small boats operating near the coast.

Meteorologists say the change in weather is linked to a shift in regional pressure patterns, a common phenomenon during late October as the summer heat fades and dry air masses begin to dominate southern Pakistan.

Authorities have advised citizens to secure loose outdoor items, exercise caution while driving, and avoid unnecessary travel along the coastline during periods of high wind activity.

Despite the gusty conditions, the PMD has ruled out any chances of rain in Karachi this week, predicting that the weather will remain dry, partly cloudy, and slightly cooler at night.

Residents, already feeling the seasonal transition, are expected to experience a brief spell of relief from humidity, with temperatures likely to drop marginally over the weekend.
