After nearly seven years away from acting, Bollywood star Anushka Sharma is set to return, this time on the streaming platform Netflix rather than the big screen.
The upcoming sports biopic ‘Chakda Xpress’ sees Anushka portraying Jhulan Goswami, the legendary Indian cricketer who played for the national women’s team from 2002 to 2022. The film draws its name from Goswami’s hometown, Chakda, in West Bengal.
While filming wrapped up some time ago, disagreements between Netflix and the production house over post-production and final edits caused multiple delays. Reports now indicate that these issues have been resolved, clearing the path for the film’s release soon.
Originally expected in 2024, the project was postponed due to creative differences, but fans are now eagerly anticipating Anushka Sharma’s much-awaited return to acting.
