The Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) and the Saudi Cycling Federation (SCF) have officially signed the Host City Agreement for the 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championships, marking another major step forward for cycling in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The signing ceremony was held in Riyadh, attended by Dato’ Amarjit Singh Gill, President of the ACC, and Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al-Shahrani, President of the Saudi Cycling Federation.

Under the agreement, Qassim City has been confirmed as the official host for the 2026 edition of the championships, which will take place from February 5 to 13, 2026.

The event will receive full backing from the Saudi government, reflecting the Kingdom’s increasing dedication to developing cycling and enhancing its global sporting presence.

The Championships will include Elite Men’s and Women’s, Under-23, Junior, and Para-Cycling divisions — bringing together Asia’s finest cyclists for a festival of endurance, inclusivity, and sporting excellence.

Dato’ Amarjit Singh Gill, ACC President and UCI Vice President, praised Saudi Arabia’s commitment and capacity to host a world-class event:

“The Asian Road Cycling Championships is the flagship cycling competition in Asia, and we’re thrilled to see Saudi Arabia — through Qassim City — take this initiative with full commitment and vision. This collaboration highlights the sport’s rapid growth in the region and perfectly aligns with the ACC’s mission to expand cycling’s reach across Asia.”

Alongside the competition, the Saudi Cycling Federation will also organize key ACC meetings during the same week, including the Management Committee Meeting on February 11 and the ACC Congress on February 12, 2026, both set to take place in Riyadh.

Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al-Shahrani, President of the SCF, emphasized the importance of the event for the Kingdom:

“Hosting the 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championships in Qassim is a proud achievement for Saudi Arabia. It represents our vision to make the Kingdom a regional hub for international cycling and to motivate the next generation of Saudi cyclists through this prestigious tournament.”

The 2026 Championships will also act as a qualifying event for future international competitions while promoting unity, sustainability, and healthy lifestyles throughout Asia.

This collaboration between the ACC and Saudi Cycling Federation marks another significant milestone, reaffirming Asia’s joint commitment to taking cycling to greater heights under a shared vision of excellence and inclusion.
