Pakistan to Host First-Ever International Qirat Competition IQC-2025

Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs is set to host the country’s first-ever International Qirat Competition (IQC-2025) in Islamabad from November 24 to 29. Over 34 Qur’an reciters (Qaris) from OIC member states will participate, marking a historic milestone in Pakistan’s religious and cultural landscape.

Details:

The competition will kick off on November 24 at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Auditorium, Islamabad, with the opening session and initial rounds of recitation.

Semi-finals and finals will take place on November 27 at the same venue.

The award ceremony and closing session will be held on November 29 at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad.

The event aims to promote the art of Qur’anic recitation and foster intercultural harmony among Muslim nations.

Background and Significance:

IQC-2025 is the first international-level Qirat competition to be hosted in Pakistan, highlighting the country’s commitment to preserving and promoting Qur’anic teachings and Islamic culture.

The competition brings together young and experienced Qaris from across OIC countries, encouraging knowledge exchange and religious unity.

Public and International Response:

The event has been welcomed by the Muslim world and is expected to strengthen friendly relations among Islamic countries.

Alongside the competition, cultural programs and workshops will be organized to train young Qaris and promote the art of Qur’anic recitation globally.
