Due to rising air pollution and smog in the federal capital, the District Health Officer has issued an advisory warning of a possible increase in respiratory, heart, and eye diseases.

‎In the advisory issued by the District Health Department, children, the elderly, and chronic patients have been advised to take special precautions. Citizens have been advised to limit unnecessary outdoor activities.

‎The advisory stresses keeping windows and doors closed during smog, avoiding smoke exposure, and using masks. Citizens have been instructed to rinse their eyes with clean water in case of irritation, and to seek immediate medical attention if they experience breathing difficulties or severe symptoms. A reduction in traffic and vehicle use during smog hours has also been requested.
