QUETTA: Authorities have arrested five additional suspects in connection with the incident in Musa Khel where several individuals were forced to walk on burning embers to prove their innocence.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, the total number of arrests has now reached eleven. He confirmed that the suspects seen in video footage—those who lit the fire and those who announced the so-called decision—have also been taken into custody.
The case emerged after a local shopkeeper accused eight people of stealing Rs 20,000, following which they were allegedly subjected to the brutal act as a form of punishment. Officials also revealed that the victims are receiving threats to change their statements and, fearing for their safety, have taken shelter in a nearby forest.
The victims have appealed to Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti for protection
