Karachi: A man allegedly shot and killed his daughter and son-in-law inside a house located in the Machar Colony area, police and rescue officials said on Wednesday.
According to rescue authorities, the injured woman was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi, where she later succumbed to her wounds during treatment.
Police stated that the firing was carried out by the victim’s father, who fled the scene after the incident. The deceased woman, identified as Zainab, had contracted a marriage of her own choice with Atiq and had moved from Peshawar to Karachi.
Investigators said the suspect had remained in contact with his daughter and had arrived at the couple’s residence three days prior to the incident. At the time of the shooting, both victims were asleep when the suspect allegedly opened fire before escaping.
Police said further investigation is underway and efforts are being made to arrest the accused at the earliest.
