Pakistan’s top military leadership has made it clear that no political or malicious agenda threatening the country’s unity, security, or stability will be allowed to succeed.

The firm message came from the 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday. The high-level meeting was chaired by Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and attended by senior commanders of the Pakistan Army.

According to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forum strongly rejected any link between terrorism, criminal activity, and vested political interests. It stressed that all attempts to weaken national unity or create mistrust between the armed forces and the people would be dealt with decisively.

The commanders reviewed the overall internal and external security situation, with a focus on emerging threats and the army’s operational readiness. The meeting reaffirmed that terrorist groups, especially those supported and facilitated by Indian sponsors, would be confronted with full force.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s continued support for the legitimate right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people. He also restated Pakistan’s principled position on Palestine, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian aid to Gaza, and a clear roadmap towards an independent Palestinian state.

The conference also appreciated the Balochistan Special Development Initiatives, terming them an important step in addressing terrorism linked with governance challenges. The forum recommended similar development-focused measures in other regions in line with the National Action Plan to ensure long-term peace and stability.

Paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the armed forces, Field Marshal Munir highlighted the success of intelligence based counterterrorism operations being carried out across the country. The forum noted that joint efforts by the government, security forces, and the public were helping Pakistan move steadily towards stability and improved prospects.

In his concluding remarks, the army chief directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of preparedness, discipline, training, physical fitness, and technological advancement. He expressed complete confidence in the Pakistan Army’s ability to counter all types of threats conventional, unconventional, and hybrid while protecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The conference ended with Fateha for the martyrs from the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who lost their lives in recent terrorist attacks while defending the nation against foreign-sponsored terrorism.
