Around the world, many people face heart disease, kidney disorders, obesity and type 2 diabetes based kidney metabolic syndrome (CKM).
However, avoiding all these chronic diseases is not very difficult; simply making walking or household chores a habit can help. This has been revealed in a new medical study.
The study, published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, found that light physical activities such as walking reduce the risk of developing these chronic diseases or death.
Generally, the risk of CKM increases due to factors such as chronic inflammation, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, declining kidney function or abdominal obesity.
In this study, data related to the health and physical activities of 7,200 individuals collected between 2003 and 2006 were analyzed.
The research examined the long term effects of light physical activities on health.
It was found that light physical activities reduce the risk of death among people suffering from CKM. According to the study, light physical activities improve heart health in people with CKM.
Researchers also found that increasing light physical activities by just one hour per day reduces the risk of death by 14 to 20 percent over the next 14 years. Greater physical activity provides even more health benefits for people with CKM.
They said the results indicate that reducing sitting time and making routine physical activities such as yoga, walking or household chores a habit benefits the health of people at risk of heart disease.
According to experts, even light physical activities prove to be highly beneficial for health. They added that adopting these activities in daily life is easy for most people.
However, researchers acknowledged that further studies are needed to confirm the findings and to understand the benefits of light physical activities on mental health.
