Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced major initiatives in the health sector, stating that treatments and transplants worth millions of rupees are being provided completely free of cost across the province, bringing relief to thousands of families.

‎During a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, a detailed review of four major health projects was conducted. It was shared that under the Children’s Heart Surgery Program, 16,625 children have been registered, while more than 11,000 successful surgeries have already been completed. In government hospitals across the province, 7,664 heart operations and other medical procedures for children have been carried out.

‎The meeting was also informed that doors of private hospitals have been opened for the treatment of underprivileged children, where treatment of 3,802 children has been completed at government expense.

‎Under the CM Special Transplant Program, 2,001 patients have been registered, out of which 1,574 transplants have been successfully completed. Among these, 255 patients received liver transplants completely free of cost, with the Punjab government spending approximately 6.5 million rupees on each liver transplant.

‎Under the same program, 799 kidney transplants, 460 cochlear transplants, 32 corneal transplants, and 28 bone marrow transplants have also been performed free of cost.

‎Regarding the dialysis program, the meeting was informed that 38,125 patients have been registered, while more than 1.5 million dialysis procedures have been completed so far.

‎Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that whether rich or poor, all children are her own, and the government is utilizing all available resources to provide the best possible healthcare facilities to the public. She added that over 11,000 surgeries and thousands of transplants are clear evidence of Punjab’s performance.
