Khairpur: A Girl Allegedly Dies from Monkey Virus

‎A girl has reportedly passed away due to a monkey virus in Khairpur.

‎In Sindh’s district Khairpur, an outbreak of a viral disease has spread in the village of Muhammad Ayub Khuhro near Kacha Kot Mir Muhammad in Pir Goth, bringing the number of children who have died in the same village over the past 10 days to four.

‎One year old Leelan Khuhro has also allegedly died from the monkey virus. According to the parents, among the deceased were two year old Sangeen and one year old Reshman, who were real sisters. More than five children in the village are reportedly affected by the virus.

‎Residents of the area have urged that medical teams be sent to Khairpur so that the children can receive treatment.
