Proposal to Allocate 22 Billion Rupees for Health Sector Projects in Budget

Details of the development budget for the health sector for the upcoming financial year have been released.

‎A total of 22 billion rupees is proposed to be allocated for new and ongoing projects. Only 140 million rupees are suggested for drug control, and 500 million rupees for the National Population Action Plan.

‎According to documents, 21 ongoing and 12 new health sector projects have been included in the budget proposal. An amount of 2.64 billion rupees is proposed for new projects.

‎For Islamabad Cancer Hospital, 1.2976 billion rupees are proposed, while 1.5 billion rupees are suggested for the Prime Minister’s Hepatitis C Control Program.

‎One billion rupees is proposed for the Prime Minister’s Diabetes Control Program, 1.83 billion rupees for the development of the Integrated Disease Surveillance System, and 19.36 billion rupees for ongoing national health projects.

‎For Islamabad Cancer Hospital, 1.298 billion rupees, for Islamabad Jinnah Hospital Polyclinic project 1.5 billion rupees, for the National Institute of Health infectious diseases laboratory 1 billion rupees, for Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Center Islamabad 500 million rupees, and for expansion of stroke and critical care facilities at PIMS 1.5 billion rupees are likely to be allocated.

‎For equipment procurement of Islamabad Cancer Hospital 1.5 billion rupees, 2 billion rupees for the Prime Minister National Health Program, 500 million rupees for HIV, AIDS, malaria and TB control programs, and 500 million rupees for the National Population Action Plan are proposed.
