KARACHI — A shocking multi-million rupee robbery at Regal Chowk in Karachi’s bustling Saddar area has taken a dramatic turn following the arrest of the operation’s mastermind, Noor Wali, by the Preedy Police. Investigators have revealed that the high-profile heist was an inside job orchestrated by Bilal, a highly trusted, decade-long employee who enjoyed exceptional workplace benefits.
According to police officials, Bilal (alias Sheena), who worked for a solar inverter dealer, acted as the informant for the criminal gang. Despite being rewarded with three annual bonuses, a share in the business’s financial recoveries, and a motorcycle gifted by his employer, Bilal betrayed this deep workplace trust by leaking critical operational details.
The incident unfolded on February 14, when two armed robbers intercepted a delivery rider working for the solar dealer near Regal Chowk. Holding the rider at gunpoint, the criminals fled with 9 million rupees in cash.
Following preliminary investigations, the police initially arrested two suspects, Asad and Bilal. A senior police official disclosed that Bilal leveraged his inside knowledge of the firm’s daily financial routines. On the day of the crime, Bilal visited the business owner’s residence under the pretext of delivering food. Once he observed two coworkers leaving the premises to deposit the cash into a bank, he immediately signaled his armed accomplices outside.
Acting on information obtained during interrogations, law enforcement conducted a targeted raid and successfully recovered 4.5 million rupees in cash, which the suspects had buried underground to evade detection. The trail eventually led the Preedy Police to the gang leader, Noor Wali, who was apprehended in an injured condition following a brief shootout with the police.
Investigators uncovered a bizarre twist to the getaway: after pulling off the multi-million rupee heist, the suspects fled to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), where they flagrantly displayed their illicit wealth. The suspects filmed and posted TikTok videos celebrating their success after reaching KP, in which both Asad and the wounded mastermind, Noor Wali, can be clearly identified alongside the stolen money.
In terms of suspect profiles, the mastermind, Noor Wali, originally hails from the Kala Dhaka region of KP, while his accomplices, Bilal and Asad, are residents of Buner, KP. The Karachi Police have confirmed that an aggressive interrogation is currently underway to locate the remaining 4.5 million rupees and to determine if this network is linked to other major financial crimes across the metropolitan city.
