LAHORE: An altercation broke out between a female doctor and the relatives of a patient at Gulab Devi Hospital after a disagreement over transferring the patient to the intensive care unit (ICU). Police arrested two women in connection with the incident, while the patient died several hours later.
According to Express News, Zulfiqar, a resident of Jiya Musa, had been admitted to Gulab Devi Hospital seven days earlier. A dispute reportedly erupted between his relatives and Dr. Mudahat Zahra over his transfer to the ICU, which subsequently escalated into a physical altercation.
A video of the incident has also surfaced on social media. The footage reportedly shows women assaulting the female doctor.
Police took action following the altercation, detained two women and presented them before a court, according to the report.
Meanwhile, the patient, Zulfiqar, died several hours after the confrontation. His family has submitted an application at Naseerabad Police Station, seeking the registration of a case against the female doctor.
