Aligarh Institute Hosts Vibrant Award Ceremony for 2024–25 Inter-Departmental Sports Championship

The Award Distribution Ceremony for the Inter-Departmental Sports Championship (2024–2025) was held at Aligarh Institute.

The ceremony to give out awards for the second Inter-Departmental Sports Championship (2024–2025) was held at Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT) and students and department heads from all over the institute took part with excitement.

The championship included a variety of sports, for example, football, cricket, table tennis, arm wrestling, chess, draughts, darts, badminton and tug of war.

The Sports Convener AIT, Engineer Wasif Nazar Siddiqui, graced the event. The Convener AIT, Syed Muhammad Mohsin Kazim, was the chief guest and Engineer Muhammad Yameen, Vice President of AMOUBA, was the guest of honour.

Mrs. Erum Akbar, the wife of the Chancellor of Sir Syed University, made a special appearance. She acknowledged the students’ achievements and urged the female students to work hard at being excellent in all areas of life, not only in sports. She also talked about how important it is to lead a healthy life.

Mr. Shahid Jameel, the Principal of AIT, said, “Sports help students grow physically and mentally and AIT will keep supporting such activities.”

According to Sports Officer Talat Mehmood, the event had over 500 participants from various departments at AIT such as Civil, Architecture, CIT, Software, Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Chemical and Mechatronics Engineering, plus the BSCS department of Sir Syed University and CIT Software (Evening) department.

Syed Muhammad Mohsin Kazim said that such competitions help athletes improve their health and also learn to cooperate, be disciplined and behave like good sports.

Students who won were given certificates and cash prizes at the end of the ceremony.
