Danish Taimoor Faces Heat Over Toxic Roles, Ratings Praise

Actor Danish Taimoor has come under intense criticism after proudly sharing the massive viewership numbers of his latest dramas Sher and Mann Mast Malang, despite growing concerns over their controversial content.

On Instagram, Taimoor celebrated his serials’ popularity, revealing Sher has amassed 25 million views and Mann Mast Malang over 23 million. He captioned the post:
“Success doesn’t need a spotlight. It speaks loud and clear.”

However, many viewers and critics have voiced alarm at the themes portrayed in these dramas, particularly the normalization of obsessive and violent romantic behavior. Sher has been singled out for perpetuating toxic relationship stereotypes, a trend many feel Taimoor keeps reinforcing through his role choices.

Mann Mast Malang also attracted criticism for scenes deemed forced and excessively provocative. Social media users drew connections between such portrayals and real-world consequences, notably the tragic kill-ing of TikToker Sana Yousaf  by a rejected admirer.

One commenter condemned the celebration of ratings amid such social issues:
“How can you celebrate views when toxic mindsets cost lives? This is exploitation, not success. Think about your own daughter.”

The backlash has extended beyond fans. Actress Alina Abbas Shah openly called on Taimoor to reconsider his career path, stating that glamorizing harmful behavior under the guise of romance sends the wrong message to society.

While the dramas are commercially successful, the debate highlights a growing call within the industry and audience for responsible storytelling that avoids glorifying damaging attitudes.
