The Akal Takht has directed the management of Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Singen, Germany, to immediately lift a ban on performing religious ceremonies after a Sikh family was allegedly denied permission to conduct Bhog and Antim Ardas for their late mother. Officiating jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj instructed gurdwara president Davinder Singh to comply and report back to the Akal Takht Secretariat.
The directive came after the gurdwara management reportedly refused Daljit Singh and Paramjit Singh permission to hold the ceremonies, prompting them to seek intervention from the Akal Takht. A letter from the Sikh sangat of Singen accused the committee of acting out of personal grudges, calling the ban unjust and against Sikh rehat maryada and gurmat principles.
According to reports, the gurdwara committee claimed the ban followed advice from local police, who said the family members were previously involved in clashes that caused disturbances. The police had allegedly suggested restricting their entry to maintain peace within the gurdwara premises.
The Akal Takht also instructed Daljit Singh and Paramjit Singh to maintain respect for Guru Sahib and cooperate with the gurdwara management, avoiding any actions that could lead to disputes. Meanwhile, repeated attempts to contact gurdwara president Davinder Singh remained unsuccessful.
