Today, the Punjab government and individual organizations have initiated a round of captivating summer camps 2025 throughout the province, to offer educational, creative, and physical tasks to the kids aged 6 to 16 during the school holiday. These camps are being held in schools, community centers, and parks in cities such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, and Sialkot, and last four weeks, Monday through Friday 9 AM to 2 PM.
The participants are registered in various activities such as art, robotics, languages, sports, and nature awareness. According to government officials, more than 50,000 students have already registered in the first batch and that more are yet to come in the following weeks. Provincial Education Secretary Aisha Khalid stressed upon the importance of the camps in developing the skills of critical thinking, creativity and health of the students as well as maintaining them occupied and safe throughout the summer.
Both camps have qualified trainers and certified coaches; the sporting activities involve cricket, football, swimming classes, and yoga classes. There was a positive feedback from the students and parents saying that such camps are a good release and a learning experience during the summer holidays.
Safety measures put in place by the authorities involve adequate hydration, availability of first-aid, and background-screened personnel. There are established channels of parent teacher communication and regular assessments to check the progress.
The summer camps are set to run until the end of July and the second phase of enrollment will begin in the middle of June. According to government and private partners, these camps are meant to help in creating all rounded youths in anticipation of the forthcoming school year.
