Organ Meats: Eid’s Most Underrated Health Heroes

Eid al-Adha is over, but many people are still eating the special meat dishes made during the festival. Parts like liver, kidney, heart, and brain were very popular during Eid meals.

Some people enjoyed these parts because they are full of nutrients, while others avoided them thinking they are unhealthy.

But actually, if eaten in the right amount, these foods can be good for your health.

Parts like liver, kidney, heart, brain, tongue, and pancreas are full of important nutrients, so people call them “nature’s multivitamins.”

They have things like iron, vitamins A, D, E, K, and B, which are very good for health. These parts can even be healthier than normal meat like leg or ribs.

They help the heart and brain work better, make the immune system stronger, and reduce swelling or pain inside the body.

  • Liver is the most nutritious. It helps with blood health and improves eyesight, but eating too much can be harmful due to too much vitamin A.
  • Kidneys are good for the heart and help clean the body. They have healthy fats and proteins.
  • Brain helps the nervous system, improves memory, and protects brain cells.
  • Heart meat gives strength to muscles and helps control blood pressure.
  • Tongue gives energy and is good for people who need more nutrition, like pregnant women.

But be careful! Organ meats can be high in fat and cholesterol. Eating them too much can cause health problems, especially if someone already has heart or liver issues.
