Pakistan’s pioneering space-themed telefilm, “Jahan Aur Bhi Hain – Beyond the Blue,” premieres today at the Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad. The 38-minute science fiction drama is a joint production of IST, the National Center of GIS and Space Applications (NCGSA), and the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Starring Amna Ilyas and Daniyal Raheal, the film centers on a rural village facing environmental collapse. The story follows a science professor who employs satellite imagery and remote sensing technology to forecast a life-threatening cloudburst, aiming to safeguard her community.
By merging space science with climate resilience, the telefilm aims to boost science literacy and promote dis@ster preparedness. The premiere is strategically timed ahead of World Environment Day and will also be broadcast on PTV on June 5.
