In the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2025-26, an amount of Rs. 15.34 billion has been allocated for the health sector. The budget includes funding for 18 ongoing health projects and 3 new initiatives.
Under the Prime Minister’s National Programme for the Elimination of Hepatitis C, Rs. 1 billion has been earmarked. Additionally, Rs. 800 million have been allocated for the Prime Minister’s National Programme for the Prevention of Diabetes.
A proposal of Rs. 5 billion has been made for the construction of the Quaid-e-Azam Health Tower in Islamabad. Furthermore, Rs. 1.701 billion have been allocated for the construction of a cancer hospital in Islamabad, while Rs. 100 million have been reserved for setting up an Infectious Diseases Laboratory.
Moreover, a special budget has been set aside for improving the health infrastructure at the federal and district levels.
