KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department has released its latest report on confirmed dengue cases across the province. According to the report, a total of 4,500 dengue tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, of which 1,186 tested positive.

In Karachi Division, 2,744 tests were carried out, resulting in 421 positive cases, while Hyderabad Division reported 765 positive cases out of 1,756 tests.

Sindh Health Secretary Rehan Baloch stated that 125 new patients were admitted to government hospitals and 118 to private hospitals in the last 24 hours. During the same period, 115 patients were discharged from government hospitals and 72 from private hospitals after recovery. No dengue-related deaths were reported.

Currently, 210 patients are under treatment in government hospitals and 248 in private facilities across the province. The provincial government has allocated 968 beds for dengue patients in public hospitals — including 256 in Karachi, 155 in Hyderabad, and 557 in other districts. In private hospitals, 342 beds have been designated for dengue cases.

Secretary Rehan Baloch further informed that 30 laboratories are conducting dengue tests in Karachi (11 government and 19 private), while 21 laboratories are operational in Hyderabad (10 government and 11 private).

He urged citizens to ensure no water accumulates in or around their homes and workplaces, as stagnant water serves as the primary breeding ground for dengue mosquitoes.
