The Sindh government has announced the provision of free vaccines to protect girls aged 9 to 14 from cervical cancer, making it the first province in Pakistan to launch such a vaccination campaign.

‎At a seminar held in Karachi, health experts revealed that over 5,000 cervical cancer cases are reported annually in Pakistan, with more than 3,000 women losing their lives to the disease each year.

‎Based on research conducted on over 4,000 women and girls across various districts of Sindh, the provincial government decided to offer the free HPV vaccine to girls aged 9 to 14. The vaccine will be available at schools and other centers completely free of charge.
