In Tharparkar’s Nagarparkar region, three separate lightning strikes during heavy rainfall left at least 23 cattle dead, local residents confirmed on Tuesday.

According to details, the incidents occurred late at night and early morning amid thunderstorms and heavy showers. In the villages of Mithrio Halepota, Rojh, and Danbharayo, lightning struck near residential areas and nearby grazing fields, killing 21 cows and 2 goats on the spot.

Residents said the livestock were left in open fields during the sudden downpour, which made them vulnerable to the strikes.

This comes just a day after a similar incident near Mithi, where 17 animals were killed by lightning. Three days earlier, another strike near Islamkot claimed the lives of 47 goats.

Authorities have urged locals to avoid open fields during thunderstorms and to keep their livestock in safer enclosures whenever possible.
