KARACHI: A cloth trader was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Orangi Town on Monday morning. The victim, identified as 44-year-old Muhammad Naeem, was returning home after dropping his son at school when armed men on a motorcycle ambushed him near Shadab Ground.
Police officials confirmed that the killing did not appear to be a robbery attempt, as the victim’s motorcycle, mobile phone, and identification documents remained untouched. Initial investigations suggest that the murder may have been motivated by personal enmity.
The incident occurred around 7:45 AM, with Naeem sustaining four gunshot wounds that claimed his life on the spot. CCTV footage obtained by police shows two suspects fleeing on a motorcycle after the attack.
The deceased, a father of three and resident of Sector 6-L, Banarsi Market, Orangi Town, had been engaged in the cloth business for several years. Law enforcement authorities have launched a probe into the incident and are working to trace the culprits.
