Lahore – Popular YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, has secured significant relief from the court after challenging his judicial remand in a case linked to the alleged promotion of online gambling applications.
According to court proceedings, the YouTuber’s legal team, led by Advocate Chaudhry Usman Ali, filed an appeal before a Lahore sessions court against the order of a judicial magistrate, who had earlier approved a four-day physical remand. The sessions court admitted the appeal for hearing, providing Ducky Bhai temporary respite in the case.
In his petition, the YouTuber argued that the magistrate had granted the remand without properly assessing the facts of the case. The defense maintained that the decision was unjustified and requested the court to nullify the remand order.
Responding to the appeal, the sessions court issued a notice to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), directing it to submit a written reply by September 1.
The case stems from allegations that Ducky Bhai used his widely followed YouTube platform to promote gambling-related applications through his videos. The investigation by cybercrime authorities led to his detention and subsequent remand order, sparking widespread debate among fans and social media users.
The court’s latest decision has shifted attention to how the cybercrime agency will defend its stance in the upcoming hearing. The outcome is expected to play a key role in shaping the proceedings against one of Pakistan’s most prominent digital content creators.
