BEIJING: Pakistan showcased its growing digital strength on Thursday as Ambassador Khalil Hashmi inaugurated the Digital Pakistan Pavilion at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). The initiative positions Pakistan as a rising force in the global digital economy and opens new doors for international collaboration.

The pavilion brought together 15 leading Pakistani technology and service firms, including Digital Softs, Microlinks Private Limited, Shajim Engineering Services & Technology, OBHost, Noor Ahmed Ecommerce Solutions, Zile Technologies, Izla Technologies, QBS Co Pvt Ltd, Trio Communication, Innovative Hub, Software Craft Pvt Ltd, ByteSole Pvt Ltd, World Gemstones Pvt Ltd, MK Technology, Sherdil IT Services and Sepia Solutions. These companies aim to strike strategic partnerships in IT, e-commerce, fintech, and business process outsourcing, expanding Pakistan’s footprint in the digital trade arena.

Speaking at the opening, Ambassador Hashmi stressed that the digital economy is more than innovation it is a bridge that connects people, creates opportunities, and delivers affordable solutions for developing countries. He said Pakistan’s digital transformation focuses on three key areas: education and research, business to business collaboration, and cutting edge innovation in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, smart cities, Internet of Things (IoT), and green technologies.

The envoy also underlined the importance of strategic alliances, particularly with China’s IBI Group, to equip Pakistan’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and traditional industries like textiles, agriculture, and manufacturing with digital tools to compete globally.

CIFTIS, one of the world’s largest trade fairs for services, provides Pakistani firms with a platform to tap into new markets, strengthen digital connectivity with China, and highlight Pakistan’s role as an emerging hub of innovation.
