Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have filed a legal case in the Delhi High Court against Google and YouTube, seeking ₹4 crore in damages.
The lawsuit comes in response to multiple AI-generated deepfake videos circulating on YouTube, which allegedly misuse Aishwarya Rai’s likeness, voice, and persona. The couple argues that such videos have harmed their reputation and violated their personal rights.
In their plea, they urged the court to order the immediate removal of these manipulated videos and to prohibit their monetization. They also called for safeguards to ensure that such content cannot be used for training future AI models.
The Delhi High Court has already issued an interim order to take down several flagged links, while directing Google and YouTube to file a written response.
Legal experts believe this case could become a landmark in India’s digital rights and AI misuse laws, as deepfake content involving celebrities has been rising sharply in recent months.
