The Balochistan government has dismissed another 72 doctors over prolonged absence from duty, as part of a wider crackdown on absenteeism in government departments.
According to reports, the dismissed doctors include Grade 17 Medical Officers and Grade 18 Senior Medical Officers from different districts across the province.
The action was taken under the Balochistan Employees Efficiency and Discipline Act of 2011.
Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar said the government would not tolerate absenteeism or negligence and that further action could follow.
Separately, reports say around 410 million rupees have been deducted from employees’ salaries over absenteeism and negligence.
The measures are part of the provincial government’s efforts to improve attendance and accountability in public-sector departments.
