Pakistan to Witness a Dazzling Celestial Show as First Supermoon of 2025 Lights Up the Skies on October 7
Pakistan’s first supermoon of 2025 will illuminate the night sky on October 7 at 8:47 PM, according to the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco).
Astronomers report that the moon will appear 6.6% larger and 13% brighter than its usual size, creating a striking celestial view visible across Pakistan and much of the world. Skywatchers are advised to look toward the eastern horizon shortly after sunset for the best view.
Experts explain that a “supermoon” occurs when the full moon coincides with its closest approach to Earth, making it appear larger and brighter than usual.
Suparco also confirmed that two additional supermoons are expected later this year — on November 5 and December 5 — offering astronomy enthusiasts more chances to witness the spectacular phenomenon
