Pakistani Mountaineer Asad Ali Memon Conquers Oceania’s Highest Peak, Completes Seven Summits Challenge

Pakistani climber Asad Ali Memon has made history by scaling Puncak Jaya, the highest peak in Oceania, becoming the first Pakistani to successfully complete the Seven Summits Challenge — the remarkable feat of climbing the highest mountains on each of the world’s seven continents.

Memon, who hails from Larkana, Sindh, reached the summit of Puncak Jaya (4,884 meters) in Indonesia, marking the final step of his global mountaineering journey. With this ascent, he has joined an elite group of climbers who have conquered Mount Everest (Asia), Aconcagua (South America), Denali (North America), Kilimanjaro (Africa), Elbrus (Europe), Vinson Massif (Antarctica), and now Puncak Jaya (Oceania).

Starting his mountaineering career at a young age, Asad Ali Memon faced both physical and financial challenges to represent Pakistan on the world stage. His determination and consistent efforts have now placed him among the few climbers globally to achieve this legendary milestone.

He shared that completing the Seven Summits had been a lifelong dream — one that demanded years of training, planning, and perseverance through extreme weather and terrain conditions

Memon’s achievement not only brings pride to Pakistan but also inspires a new generation of young adventurers to explore mountaineering and adventure sports. His successful expedition adds Pakistan’s name to the global map of elite climbers who have achieved one of the most demanding goals in the sport.

The Seven Summits Challenge is one of the greatest tests of endurance and mountaineering skill. It involves climbing:

With Puncak Jaya now behind him, Asad Ali Memon stands as a symbol of Pakistani resilience, courage, and global achievement.
