Legendary Sufi singer Abida Parveen has reassured her fans that she is in good health, dismissing recent social media rumors suggesting otherwise.
Over the past few days, several unverified posts circulating on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook claimed that the 69-year-old music icon had been hospitalized or was unwell. The false reports sparked widespread concern among fans across Pakistan and abroad.
However, Parveen’s management team issued a statement late Monday clarifying that the artist is “perfectly healthy” and currently spending time with her family.
“We request everyone not to believe everything you read online,” the statement said. “Abida Parveen is in great health and deeply appreciates the love and prayers from her fans.”
Fans and fellow artists also took to social media to express relief after the clarification, with many condemning the spread of misinformation about public figures.
Abida Parveen, often hailed as the “Queen of Sufi Music,” has been performing globally for over five decades. Her powerful voice and spiritual renditions have made her one of the most revered cultural icons in South Asia.
