Mission to Pass 27th Constitutional Amendment Delayed as Federal Cabinet Meeting Postponed

Islamabad — The federal cabinet meeting, which was expected to discuss and approve the 27th Constitutional Amendment today, has been unexpectedly postponed. The sudden delay has fueled speculation about growing differences within the coalition government over key clauses of the proposed amendment.

According to official sources, the meeting was initially scheduled to finalize the draft of the 27th Amendment, aimed at introducing several institutional and administrative reforms. However, last-minute consultations between government allies reportedly led to the decision to postpone the session.

Cabinet members have been informed that the meeting will be rescheduled soon, though no new date has been officially announced. Political analysts suggest the postponement reflects the government’s cautious approach amid internal and parliamentary pressures.

The proposed amendment is said to include discussions on resource distribution, administrative restructuring, and certain adjustments to the existing constitutional framework.
