ANF Cracks Down on Drug Smuggling Near Educational Institutions; Narcotics Worth Over Rs180 Million Seized Across Pakistan

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted a series of operations across multiple cities and near educational institutions, recovering narcotics worth more than Rs180 million and arresting seven suspects.

According to an ANF spokesperson, six operations were carried out nationwide, resulting in the seizure of 208.3 kilograms of various drugs valued at approximately Rs184.3 million.

During special crackdowns near educational institutions, ANF recovered 2.4 kilograms of hashish from a suspect near a hospital on GT Road, Rawalpindi, and 600 grams of hashish from a vehicle near the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza, arresting two suspects. The accused confessed to selling drugs to students during initial interrogation.

In other operations, 144 grams of cannabis oil were recovered from a parcel arriving from the UK at a courier office in Chaklala, Rawalpindi, leading to one arrest. Meanwhile, in Karachi’s Korangi Brooks Chowrangi area, 36 kilograms of hashish were seized, and near Chenab Bridge on GT Road, Gujrat, 19.2 kilograms of hashish were recovered, with two suspects taken into custody.

Additionally, 150 kilograms of heroin were seized during an operation at Western Bypass, Hazarganji, Quetta.

All suspects have been charged under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway.
