LAHORE: A routine traffic inspection at Mahmood Booti checkpoint on Lahore’s Eastern Bypass turned violent on Friday when a woman allegedly attacked a lady police officer.
According to a Dolphin Force spokesperson, the driver—identified as Sumaira—became irate during the check and deliberately parked her car in the middle of the road, blocking the flow of traffic. She allegedly misbehaved with several officers present and issued threats.
Lady police officer Rabab approached the driver and requested her to move the vehicle to ease congestion. Instead, the situation escalated when Sumaira reportedly struck Rabab on the head with a metal water bottle, causing a head injury.
Police immediately detained the suspect and transported her to Manawan Police Station. The spokesperson confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated and a formal FIR is being registered.
