Police officials stated that the victim was reciting the Holy Quran in a sitting area of his home when two armed men stormed in and shot him three times before fleeing the scene.
Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police and the crime scene unit reached the location and collected shell casings and evidence from the spot.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased, Samiullah Bajauri, served as the ANP’s regional president. Police also confirmed that he had survived a previous attack in the past.
Family members and relatives of the deceased have alleged that the killing may have stemmed from a personal enmity, though authorities are continuing to investigate the motive.
