Gunmen attack Naseem Shah’s property in Lower Dir; family unharmed

Unidentified armed men opened fire at national cricketer Naseem Shah’s hujra (guest area adjacent to his home) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lower Dir district, police confirmed on Monday.

The assailants’ bullets damaged the main gate, windows, and a vehicle parked inside the premises. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and Naseem’s family remained safe during the attack. The fast bowler himself is currently in Rawalpindi as part of the national team’s preparations for the upcoming series.

According to police, five suspects have been arrested, and a case has been registered. An investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the incident.

Meanwhile, Naseem Shah is set to feature in Pakistan’s three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, scheduled from November 11 to 15 in Rawalpindi. Following that, he will also represent Pakistan in the T20I tri-nation series featuring Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from November 17 to 29.
