Karachi: Sachal Police have arrested the prime suspect involved in the killing of a young boy during a robbery attempt, officials confirmed on Thursday.
According to the Sachal Police, the arrest was made during an intelligence-based operation targeting suspects involved in the 2nd November incident near Burraq Pump at Sachal Mor on the Super Highway. The SHO, Amin Khosa, stated that two armed men had attempted to rob passengers traveling toward a nearby village.
When the victims resisted, the suspects opened indiscriminate fire, resulting in the death of 12-year-old Hasnain, son of Muhammad Qasim. His uncle, Ali Akbar, suffered injuries during the shooting. The attackers had fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Police revealed that the main suspect, Muhammad Yaseen, son of Lal Khan, was traced and arrested using modern investigative techniques. Illegal weapons used in the crime were also recovered from his possession.
During interrogation, the arrested suspect reportedly confessed to the crime as well as involvement in several other robberies. Further investigation is underway.
