In a shocking incident from India, a few young cricketers attacked their own coach after not being selected for the team.
According to Indian media, at the Pondicherry Cricket Association (CAP) ground, three local under-19 players allegedly assaulted their coach, Venkataraman. A case of attempted murder has been registered against the accused.
Reports state that the players, frustrated over not making the team, launched the attack during a net session. The coach, who was supervising practice, suffered serious injuries — he received 20 stitches and also sustained fractured ribs.
Police have launched a search operation to arrest the suspects involved.
