The final national anti polio campaign of 2025 will officially begin across the country from today.
According to the National Emergency Operations Center, during the seven day anti polio campaign running from December 15 to 21, more than 45 million children across the country will be administered polio drops.
The National EOC said that targets have been set to vaccinate more than 23 million children in Punjab, over 10.6 million in Sindh, more than 7.2 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, over 2.6 million in Balochistan, more than 460,000 in Islamabad, over 228,000 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and more than 760,000 children in Azad Kashmir.
More than 400,000 male and female polio workers will perform their duties during the campaign.
This year, 30 polio cases have been reported in Pakistan. The EOC Balochistan coordinator said that the virus has been found in Quetta, Barkhan, and Chaman.
