Tough Start for Shaheen Afridi in Big Bash League

Shaheen Shah Afridi’s Big Bash League debut turned out to be an expensive outing as the Pakistan fast bowler struggled to make an impact in his first appearance of the tournament. Playing at Geelong, Shaheen conceded 43 runs in just 2.4 overs without taking a wicket, as Melbourne Renegades posted a commanding total of 212 for 5 in their 20 overs.

Renegades’ batters went hard from the start, targeting the new ball and putting Brisbane Heat’s bowling attack under early pressure. Shaheen, known globally for his swing and pace, found it difficult to settle into a rhythm, with the batters capitalising on anything loose.

Despite the disappointing start, it was only Shaheen Afridi’s first match in the Big Bash, and the left-arm pacer will be keen to bounce back strongly in the upcoming games. Fans and experts alike will be watching closely to see how he responds after a tough debut on Australian soil.
