Rawalpindi: A man allegedly shot and killed his daughter and her suspected acquaintance in the name of honour in the Gujar Khan area of Rawalpindi, police said on Wednesday.
According to police officials, the incident occurred in the limits of Takiya Baba Rahim Shah, where the suspect opened fire inside his house after allegedly seeing his daughter with a young man. Both victims died on the spot due to critical injuries.
The deceased were identified as Shanail and Rehmanullah. The suspect’s wife also sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the incident and was shifted to hospital in critical condition.
Upon receiving information, ASP Gujar Khan Daniyal Kazmi and SHO Gujar Khan Tayyab Zaheer reached the scene. Police collected forensic evidence, shifted the bodies for legal formalities, and initiated an investigation.
Police stated that the suspect surrendered himself after the incident and is currently in custody, while further legal proceedings are underway.
