Rawalpindi: A 14-year-old girl who had gone missing in Rawalpindi was found dead two days later, police confirmed on Friday.
According to police, the body of the girl, identified as Misbah, was recovered in a sack from near Ladies Park on Carriage Factory Road in the Dhok Hassu area. The victim had reportedly left her home on January 22 to buy a bottle from a nearby shop but did not return.
An abduction case was registered at Ratta Amral Police Station on January 23 on the complaint of the girl’s brother.
Police said the family has identified the body, which was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem examination. Authorities stated that the cause of death and other circumstances, including whether sexual assault was involved, will be determined after the post-mortem report.
Senior police officers, including SSP Operations, SSP Investigation and SP Rawal, visited the crime scene along with heavy police presence. Evidence is being collected, and the case is being investigated from all possible angles.
A spokesperson for Rawalpindi Police said efforts are underway to arrest those involved and ensure they are brought to justice.
