The grieving family of the minor girl murdered in Manghopir refused to disperse Tuesday, marking eight days of protests outside the local police station. Despite mounting public outcry and repeated assurances from senior officials, the perpetrators responsible for the brutal crime have yet to be identified or detained.

The victim’s family, supported by local community members, has blocked key access roads in the area, demanding the immediate arrest of those involved. Their frustration is palpable. They claim police investigators have made no meaningful progress since the body was recovered, alleging the department is protecting influential figures who may be linked to the incident.

“We aren’t leaving until we see handcuffs on the killers,” the victim’s father told reporters during a brief, tear-filled address at the protest site. He sat on the pavement, surrounded by neighbors holding placards, while police officers watched from a distance, maintaining a heavy presence to prevent the situation from escalating.

The case has exposed long-standing tensions between the Manghopir community and local law enforcement. Residents argue that the lack of surveillance cameras and the slow response time of the area police created the vacuum that allowed such a crime to occur.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West, when pressed for comment earlier today, cited “ongoing forensic analysis” as the primary reason for the delay. He insisted that specialized teams are working around the clock, though he stopped short of providing a timeline for any potential breakthroughs.

For the family, the technicalities of forensic investigation offer little comfort. They continue to spend their days and nights on the street, watching the same police station they believe has failed them, waiting for a resolution that remains nowhere in sight.

The protest is expected to continue Wednesday, with organizers calling for a complete shutdown of the Manghopir market if the police fail to produce a suspect by sunrise.
