The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has invited undergraduate and postgraduate students from Pakistani universities to participate in the 19th International Collegiate Snow Sculpture Contest (ICSSC 2027), scheduled to take place in China.
The international competition will be held at Harbin Engineering University in Harbin, China, from January 3 to 8, 2027. Interested universities must submit their applications and required documents by November 6, 2026.
The contest will provide Pakistani students with an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and artistic abilities by designing and creating snow sculptures alongside participants from other countries.
### Eligibility and Team Selection
Undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled at Pakistani universities are eligible to participate through their respective institutions. Individual applications will not be accepted.
Each university can nominate one team consisting of up to four students and an accompanying advisor. The competition offers professional and amateur categories, with teams required to submit original snow sculpture designs that meet the organizers’ guidelines.
Submitted designs will be reviewed before successful teams are selected and invited to participate in the final competition.
### Financial Support and Expenses
The organizers will not charge an entry fee. Harbin Engineering University will provide accommodation assistance and partial meal support to selected teams.
However, participants will need to arrange funding for expenses not covered by the organizers, including international travel costs. HEC has clarified that it is only sharing the opportunity and will not provide financial assistance for participation.
### How to Apply
Interested students should contact their university administration to discuss team selection and participation. Universities must prepare the required documents, including team information and proposed snow sculpture designs, and submit their applications directly to the competition organizers before the November 6 deadline.
The competition offers Pakistani students an opportunity to gain international exposure, showcase their artistic talents and interact with students from different countries.
