The ban on the use of mobile phones in government teaching hospitals could not be implemented.

‎Teaching hospitals failed to enforce the orders issued by the Specialized Healthcare Department. A ban had been imposed on the use of mobile phones in government hospitals.

‎The use of mobile phones was completely prohibited in operation theatres, ICUs, CCUs, and emergency departments. However, alternative landline phone facilities could not be provided in place of mobile phones.

‎Medical staff say that the use of mobile phones is unavoidable and cannot be completely stopped, as patient reports are often scanned and discussed with seniors through mobile phones.
