Pakistan has strongly condemned the reported storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and the raising of an Israeli flag within its courtyard, terming the act “reprehensible” and a violation of international law.
In an official statement, the Foreign Office expressed deep concern over the incident, saying such actions hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims worldwide and threaten peace and stability in the region. It reiterated Pakistan’s consistent stance on the protection of Islamic holy sites.
The statement urged the international community to take immediate notice of the situation and hold Israel accountable for actions that undermine the sanctity and historical status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
Pakistan also reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian people and called for a just and lasting resolution to the conflict in line with relevant United Nations resolutions.
