MUMBAI — Breaking months of intense media speculation, Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan has officially confirmed that he will be tying the knot with his longtime partner, Gauri Spratt, on July 5, 2026. The 61-year-old actor, affectionately dubbed “Mr. Perfectionist” by fans, delivered the heartfelt confirmation during a brief interaction with the press while traveling abroad.
Confirming the viral rumors, Aamir stated, “I’m currently traveling in the US. The news about the marriage is true. It’s on July 5.”
Steering completely clear of the traditional, extravagant big-fat Bollywood wedding template, Aamir and Gauri, 47, are opting for a profoundly low-key and intimate affair. The couple plans to formalize their relationship via a registered marriage at Aamir’s private residence in Mumbai. Sources close to the actor indicate that the guest list will be strictly limited to immediate family members and a handful of lifelong friends, with zero media presence or red-carpet fanfare. Aamir described the decision as a natural progression of their deep partnership.
While Aamir only introduced Gauri to the public during his milestone 60th birthday celebration in March 2025—after keeping their relationship under wraps for 18 months—their history spans a quarter of a century. The two initially crossed paths 25 years ago in Bengaluru, eventually lost contact, and later reconnected through Aamir’s cousin, Nuzhat Khan. Reflecting on their journey, Aamir had previously shared with reporters, “I met Gauri 25 years ago and now we are partners. We are very serious and committed to each other,” jokingly adding that he was proud of keeping the media completely in the dark for so long.
Gauri Spratt, who commands a highly accomplished profile of her own, hails from Bengaluru. She completed her specialized training in styling and photography from the University of the Arts London in 2004. Today, she manages a prominent BBlunt salon franchise in Mumbai and actively collaborates with Aamir Khan Productions. Gauri has a seven-year-old son named Quinn from a previous marriage. Intriguingly, her grandfather was Philip Spratt, a British-born intellectual who famously relocated to India in the 1920s to join the nation’s anti-colonial freedom struggle.
In past interviews, Aamir had openly expressed that a legal marriage was not a high priority, emphasizing that the couple was perfectly content cohabiting in their shared home. Explaining the shift in perspective, Aamir clarified, “Yes, that is true. But now we both feel we are ready to take our relationship to the next level. I am at peace. Gauri and I are serious about each other and we are in a very committed space… In my heart, I’m already married to her.”
This will mark Aamir Khan’s third marriage. He was previously married to Reena Dutta from 1986 to 2002, with whom he shares two children, Junaid and Ira. He later married acclaimed filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005; though the two announced their amicable separation in 2021, they remain close friends and active co-parents to their son, Azad.
Gauri has transitioned smoothly into Aamir’s family dynamic, with the couple living together alongside their children for over a year. She has increasingly accompanied Aamir to high-profile industry events, including the premier of his upcoming project, Sitaare Zameen Par. While industry heavyweights like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are rumored to be on the microscopic guest list, the ceremony will feature no filmi spectacle or grand Sangeet night—just a quiet, peaceful celebration of a secure bond.
